This is a special HelpAWS story. Duchess was rescued by our founder who affectionately named them the Birthday Litter. Duchess had 7 babies with her at the time but, unfortunately, 4 of her pups passed away.

Duchess is a joyful adult dog with a heart full of love. She has a playful spirit and brings a smile to everyone around her. She’s such a great mom who’s very gentle with her babies and also with kids.

Duchess is incredibly smart; she already knows ‘sit’ and ‘down’. She also knows how to fetch. Duchess is very outgoing and has medium to high energy levels — she loves to be outside and enjoys playing and goofing around. Just look at that tongue hanging out! She loves life.

This special girl thoroughly enjoys the company of her people and handles all interactions with kindness and she warms up to everyone quickly. She would be good for first-time dog parents. We’re unsure how she would fare around cats, though.
