RUPERT | MALE | 2 YEARS
Due to no fault of his own, Rupert is looking for a new forever home. Rupert moved to Canada two years ago from the Tan litter. He is currently with an incredible foster while he waits for his forever family! Rupert is a high energy dog with lots of love to give. His foster has a huge fenced in yard, and if left up to him, he would spend hours running circles in, playing fetch and being chased! He walks well on leash, but tends to pull a lot at the beginning. He knows basic commands such as sit, paw and go to bed, but has some trouble focusing unless he has expelled some of his energy first. He also knows his name, but like a true teen, does not always acknowledge when you're talking to him 🙄 Rupert would benefit from attending training to refresh his manners. Based on what we've seen, we think he could excel at agility or flyball where he can use all of his energy constructively! We also think he would be a great running or biking buddy! Rupert is fully house trained and crate trained and doesn't have any destructive behaviors. He can be vocal at times when he is overly excited but is overall quiet in the house. Due to his high energy, we believe he would do best in an active home without young children. He is easily excitable and we wouldn’t want him knocking anyone over as he's racing around qto give everyone kisses! Lastly, Rupert is not great at picking up social cues from other dogs. He constantly wants to play and doesn't understand when the other dog wants to stop. Because of this, we think he would do best as an only dog until he has some more training under his belt. He does not do well with cats, so a home without one is a must.
