  Meli and her 3 siblings were born on the North side of the island to a feral mom who left them shortly after they were born. They might not have survived on their own had it not been for a kind, older woman who found them and took them in for a short while. She fed them and cared for them for as long as she was able, then contacted the shelter for help. Meli is a playful little gal who likes being on the top of a puppy pile. She's very loving, loves to snuggle, and always wants to give hugs. She's been around cats, other dogs, and kids of all ages, and gets along well with all. Shortly after Meli came in she developed a viral infection which led to her being ill for a short period of time. Through treatment, medication and tons of love and affection this girl was able to fight through. She gained strength each and everyday until she began eating and playing again, until she was able to give hugs and kisses once more. Meli is the true definition of a fighter. This little girl has been through so much in her short life and is now ready to find her forever home and to be by her family's side through thick and thin. She has beautiful markings that are a little more unique with sweet little "freckles" sprinkled up and down her front legs & paws. You will melt when she looks up at you with those big, soulful, puppy dog eyes.
