DescriptionFLOKI | MALE | Approx. date of birth 2/2/18
- *Currently being fostered in the GTA*
This big guy was found on the side of the road on a busy highway, thrown away like trash. He was so skinny and malnourished you could see every bone on his body, he was weak and had given up. Floki is BIG boy nowadays, weighing in at 70lbs. He appears to be a Boxer mix breed and a huge, sucky baby who loves to give big, wet, slobbery kisses. He tests boundaries, but also listens well when given direction. He is currently living at a board and train facility in Canada, working on becoming a well refined gentle dog. Floki is not an aggressive dog but he is easily aroused if he wants something, or if there are other animals near his kennel. He just as easily calms down, and can remain calm for long periods of time. He knows basic commands, such as “sit” and “down”, and is working on recall and other commands. Floki is intense, but manageable with rules. He responds well to doing things for treats or other benefits, but due to a high level of anxiety (which is improving), he does not respond well to his handler/human acting in a dominating fashion. Because of his size, he needs a human who is a strong lead, and willing to learn how to handle Floki. Gaining his trust and growing his confidence will be key to a successful relationship between Floki and his human. The continuance of professional training will be a requirement of Floki’s adoption, and will be discussed in detail during the adoption interview process. Also as part of the adoption interview process, applicants (all members of the household) will be required to participate in three, 1 hour “meet and greet” sessions with Floki and his handler at K9 Komfort Inn to ensure Floki and his prospective forever family are a good match. Get ready to have your heart stolen!
